Ernesto Neto Glows Summer

Elie Saab & Ernesto Neto

So I had a rather busy day the other day. First I had school from eight o' clock to twelve, horrible as always, and after that I strolled in a few hours checking out shops and grabbing a cup of coffee. By that time I was already quite tired as a result of jet-lag. But I got to have a nice little study session at my friends until it was again time to return to the city and attempt a fashion show. It was the Stockmanns spring fashion show in Paris style where they showed new arrivals for summer from Fashion brands like Ted Baker and Lanvin. Overall I liked the show and later that evening it was time to go to Kiasma, the modern museum in Helsinki where Ernesto Neto showed his art. His art was very near to earth and totally made out of natural materials. It reminded me of summer and when I later that day browsed through the endless photos from fashion weeks for this summer/spring I discovered several similarities with the patterns, materials and the textures.

Here's a shot from Ernesto Neto's art that I took and I think it shows great the textures and the patterns. Neto wants to create places for encounter and for relaxing and breathing.

Some looks from Elie Saab's Spring slash Summer collection that seem in my eye to have some resemblance with Neto's art craft.

I would definitely wear something with Neto's patterns on and I will probably purchase something like Elie Saabs dresses. Fresh and in the same time very earthy.
